POSTER CONTEST

As most of you know we have entered a contest to win the money for our playground. We need to gather votes on line and be in the top 10 of our budget category to move on. We are in the first round right now and if we don’t make it this round we have 2 more chances to try.

WE NEED TO GET THE WORD OUT TO VOTE AND WE NEED YOUR HELP TO DO IT!

First we are asking that you register at the link below or go to the PAC blog (greendalepacinfo@blogspot.com ) and VOTE! Send out the link through FACEBOOK, TWITTER and especially by word of mouth.

Second we are running a contest for the students to create a poster promoting voting for our playground.

There will be two categories: K-3 and 4-6

Your poster must include:

1.       The school’s name Greendale Elementary Community School

2.       The name AVIVA Insurance Community Fund

3.      The link http://www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf13443 and/or

greendalepacinfo@blogspot.com

4.      The poster must be at least 8 ½ by 11

5.      BE CREATIVE

 

The deadline is Monday October, 15^th. Winners will be announced by October 18^th. The winning poster from each category will have their poster mad into a large outdoor banner and will be hung outside the school to promote voting.

Greendale Elementary Community School has entered an AVIVA community fund competition and is hoping to win the remainder of funds needed to purchase the replacement playground for the wooden structure. We need your help! You can vote daily to increase our chances of winning. It only takes a minute, doesn’t cost you a cent and it will make a big difference.

PAC MEETING!

Hello everyone, our first PAC meeting for the year will take place tomorrow evening Tuesday, September 18th at Michelle Dick's house located at 5553 Blackburn Road (ph.# 604-615-5075) @ 6:30 pm, desserts and fruit will be served!  

PAC AGM

Remember our PAC Annual General Meeting will be on TUESDAY MAY 8th at 7:00 in the Staff room at the school. At this meeting, you will have a chance to vote and elect the new PAC executive for the upcoming year.

EVERYONE IS INVITED TO ATTEND THIS MEETING. AS A PARENT OF A STUDENT AT G.E.C.S. YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND HAVE A VOTE.

Executive Positions to be elected:
President, Vice-President, Secretary, Parent Education, School Planning Council (3).

Non-Exectutive but vital to the continuation of programs:
Hot Lunch coordinator
Emergency Prep Organizer
DPAC representative

SPRING CONCERT

Did you know there's a spring concert happening at the school?

Our annual Spring Concert will be taking place on May 10th at 12:15. The dress rehearsal will be on May 9th at 12:15. We would like to invite all parents to the May 10th performance. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to attend the dress rehearsal.
The theme this year is "Transportation"! 

THE GINGERBREAD MAN HAD NOTHING ON GREENDALE!

WOW!!What an energetic community! For the first ever Run For Mr. 'Q' over 100 people participated and we made over $2000 !!!! It was such a fun, healthy, community event. Thank you to every last organizer, volunteer and runner/walker - from Codie Owens' touching speach to the Sadve warm up to the bananas - it was fantastic!


How do we top that? Well, a community event like the upcoming School CARNIVAL might come close. Mark your calendars for Friday May 27th 4:00 - 8:00 at the school. It was a blast last year and can only get better. Bring the whole family and invite the neighbours near and far. If you'd like to volunteer your time (not the entire 4 hours...just an hour would be great), then please click at the volunteerspot button below. We can't do it without you!!
